This year marks 20 years since the company that is now Handled IT Partners first began, and taking a moment to reflect feels both humbling and energizing.

What started at 18 years old alongside school became the work of a lifetime.

At the time, I was following the path I thought I was supposed to take — majoring in accounting, preparing for law school, studying hard, staying involved, taking the LSAT, and gathering letters of recommendation. From the outside, the path looked clear and predictable.

But by the time I finished undergrad, something unexpected had happened.

The business I had started alongside school began to feel real. It wasn’t an experiment — it reached a point where it could actually support me as a college graduate. We had clients who depended on us and momentum that felt tangible. Ultimately, I never applied to law school — not because the plan failed, but because something amazing emerged.

The very first person I helped came through a friend who ran a website marketing firm. He asked me to work with him to help start a tech support arm of his business for one client. That experience led to a simple realization: instead of working for someone else, I could build something of my own. We agreed to pass referrals back and forth — and that moment planted the seed.

In the early years, growth came from doing the fundamentals well: showing up, working hard, delivering results, being honest, and building real relationships. I said “yes” often and learned by doing. Over time, experience compounded. We hired talented people, implemented better processes and tools, and grew both professionally and personally along the way.

“We didn’t just grow a business — we grew into the responsibility of being a truly trusted partner.”

As the business grew, so did its identity. What began as ComputingLink, evolved into SolveMyPC, and eventually became Handled. Each name reflected a moment in time, but over the years we simply outgrew them. As a trusted IT partner providing full oversight — from strategy and security to day-to-day support — we wanted our name to match what our clients already believed: their technology was handled.

One of the most meaningful outcomes of this journey has been the relationships formed along the way. Many of my closest friends today — some who consider me an uncle to their children and some who traveled across the world with us for our wedding — came from work. For me, this was never about networking. I’m grateful that through peers, colleagues, and clients, I’ve been able to build lasting, meaningful connections.

Over the last 20 years, we’ve seen it all — technology shifts, market cycles, and constant change. What’s remained consistent is our focus on adding real value and being a trusted partner.

What excites me most isn’t just how far we’ve come — it’s the opportunity ahead. The work, the impact, and the relationships continue to make this journey incredibly fulfilling.

Thank you to our clients, partners, teammates, and friends — past and present — for being part of the last 20 years. We’re just getting started.
